ROCHESTER HILLS — A former Detroit police lieutenant was sentenced to 2.5 years in prison April 18 for accepting bribes in connection with corrupted towing permits in Detroit.

BLOOMFIELD TOWNSHIP — Two women who were banned from entering Michigan because of previous criminal activity were reportedly caught stealing from a store in Bloomfield Township.

DETROIT — A leader of a national drug ring and money laundering scheme will serve a long term in prison after the Universal Product Code on a Sony PlayStation box led federal agents to make a bust in Novi.

ROCHESTER HILLS —  Three separate threats to local schools were investigated recently. Deputies received information of a school threat from the parent of a student at 6:41 p.m. April 3 who told police there was a Snapchat circulating indicating that a ninth-grade student was “going to shoot up the school” on April 4.

SOUTHFIELD — On Thursday, March 30, six members of the Red Rose Rescue, a coalition of pro-life people, were sentenced for misdemeanor charges, including trespassing, resisting/obstructing a police officer and disorderly conduct, following an incident at Northland Family Planning Center’s Southfield location.
