BLOOMFIELD TOWNSHIP — An 85-year-old woman from Bloomfield Township allegedly was swindled out of $160,000 by her caretaker, according to Bloomfield Township police.

SHELBY TOWNSHIP — Wrong-way drivers have been in the news lately, and the Shelby Township Police Department was notified of a wrong-way driver heading northbound on the M-53 Freeway in the southbound lanes of traffic in the area of M-53 and 23 Mile Road at 11:56 p.m. March 18.

SHELBY TOWNSHIP — The Shelby Township Police Department arrested three suspects in connection with vehicles that had been broken into in March.

WARREN — Warren police said an arrest was made less than 24 hours after a Cousino High School student reported that a stranger approached her and attempted to persuade her into his vehicle as she was walking home from school on April 3.

WARREN — On April 12, a Warren police officer responding to a domestic violence call on Garbor Drive shot and killed a man who was reportedly armed with a handgun.

WARREN — A 37-year-old Warren man has been charged after a shooting left another man critically wounded after a party on April 6.

STERLING HEIGHTS — A Sterling Heights resident has been accused of murder following the death of his pregnant girlfriend, according to county prosecutors.

FARMINGTON HILLS — A motorcycle rider is facing charges after taking police officers on a potentially dangerous ride.

HAZEL PARK — An infatuation with a man at the gym escalated to a dangerous confrontation, police say, when the secret admirer stalked the man’s girlfriend using a GPS tracking device placed on her car and pistol-whipped her outside of her home.

EASTPOINTE — Earlier this month, Eastpointe police responded to an incident where three suspicious individuals were peering into a car parked in a driveway. The situation escalated when police arrived and the suspects fled in a getaway vehicle with three more suspects, leading police on a chase that reached its climax when the suspects crashed. After a chase on foot, all six were caught, and police seized firearms, narcotics and stolen goods from them, as well.

EASTPOINTE — Multiple individuals were caught in a hail of bullets from a drive-by shooting at a home in Eastpointe, and police are trying to identify the suspects and determine their motive.

HAZEL PARK — About three years ago, a Hazel Park man befriended a woman more than 30 years his junior. A year later, he noticed money disappearing from his bank account.
