Police say missing teen has been safely located

SOUTHFIELD — Lasiyah Jones, 16, has been safely located, according to Southfield police.

Jones, 16, was reported as voluntarily missing on Jan. 2. According to law enforcement, Jones had packed her belongings and told a relative that she was leaving. She then spoke to a relative on Jan. 4 and said she was staying with a female friend, according to police.

The Southfield Police Department has since reported that she was safely located as of 1:23 p.m. on Jan. 5.
