METRO DETROIT — The Michigan State High School Clay Target League has kicked off its 2026 spring season with more participation than ever.

ROYAL OAK — A day of remembrance and community has been scheduled for May 17 at The National Shrine of the Little Flower Basilica on 12 Mile Road in Royal Oak to honor the life and legacy of Al Fracassa.

DETROIT — On April 24, around 200 youth sports coaches, advocates, development professionals, volunteers and leaders gathered at the Wayne State University Field House for the second annual Unite to Ignite Youth Sports Summit.

MACOMB TOWNSHIP — Lutheran North high school is leaving the Catholic High School League and joining the Blue Water Area Conference at the start of the 2026-27 school year, according to a press release by the CHSL.

BEVERLY HILLS — Detroit Country Day School had a ceremony April 10 to induct its third Athletics Hall of Fame class.

METRO DETROIT — The Michigan High School Athletic Association’s inaugural season of boys volleyball is officially underway.

EASTPOINTE — Eastpointe High School senior Bradley Allen has been named a recipient of the 2026 Western Golf Association’s Chick Evans Scholarship.

WARREN — After a year-long hiatus, the Warren Jets youth football and cheer program will return for the 2026 calendar year.

SHELBY TOWNSHIP/STERLING HEIGHTS — Utica Community Schools hosted three ribbon cutting events during the week of April 6 that showcased new athletic complexes at Stevenson High School, Eisenhower High School and Henry Ford II High School.

TROY — The Hockey Mentors group, which provides free hockey experiences for individuals with special needs, has announced dates for April and May events.

ROYAL OAK — The Royal Oak Leprechauns have begun offering featured ticket packages for the 2026 season.

NOVI — On March 7, the 2026 Michigan High School Athletic Association Division 1 hockey state title result was the same as the previous six title matches at USA Hockey Arena in Plymouth.
