ST. CLAIR SHORES — Lakeview High School senior Vincenzo Pizzo is a 6-foot 6-inch lineman on the football team and will continue his football career at the University of Toledo next year.

YPSILANTI/FARMINGTON HILLS — Farmington Hills Mercy High School won the MHSAA Division 2 girls swimming state title Nov 22 at Eastern Michigan University — its third consecutive state title.

WEST BLOOMFIELD — West Bloomfield High senior Elizabeth Eichbrecht swam her final high school event Nov. 21 at Oakland University in the MHSAA Division 1 state meet.

METRO DETROIT — Boys and girls high school basketball is back as programs all over Michigan aim to start the season on a high note.

ROCHESTER HILLS — The Reuther Middle School girls basketball program has quickly established itself as one of the best in the state after a historic two-year run.

DETROIT — Detroit Catholic Central defeated Detroit Cass Tech 42-19 on Nov. 30 at Ford Field in the Michigan High School Athletic Association Division 1 state championship football game.

DETROIT — Orchard Lake St. Mary’s won the MHSAA Division 2 state title in a 51-14 victory over Dexter on Nov. 28 at Ford Field.

BLOOMFIELD HILLS — A group of girls from around metro Detroit came together to win this season’s Girls Take The Field flag football league in Bloomfield Hills.

MIDLAND/ROCHESTER — Rochester High School senior Chad Anderson won an individual state title in the top singles flight Oct. 18 at Midland Tennis Center.

MIDLAND — After back-to-back runner-up finishes in 2023 and 2024, Birmingham Seaholm won the Division 2 boys tennis state title for the 2025 season Oct. 23 at Midland Tennis Center.

DETROIT — The Detroit Historical Museum opened the Detroit Red Wings at 100: Becoming Hockeytown exhibition to the public on Nov. 20.

ST. CLAIR SHORES — Birmingham Groves football defeated St. Clair Shores Lakeview 37-14 in a Division 2 regional final matchup on Nov. 14 at Lakeview High School.

GROSSE POINTE WOODS/MIDLAND — Grosse Pointe Woods University Liggett boys tennis returned to the top of Division 4 after a convincing first place finish at Midland Tennis Center on Oct. 21.

MIDLAND/BLOOMFIELD HILLS — Bloomfield Hills Cranbrook Kingswood won the 2025 Division 3 state championship Oct. 25 at Midland Tennis Center.

GRAND LEDGE/WARREN — Warren De La Salle Collegiate won the Division 2 boys soccer state championship on Nov. 1 at Grand Ledge High School with a 2-0 victory over Hudsonville Unity Christian.
