EASTPOINTE — While many residents thought the discussion of the proposed Nine Mile Road diet was over, the Eastpointe City Council took up the issue again at its Nov. 18 meeting.

OAKLAND COUNTY — Westbound Interstate 696 and its ramps will be closed starting on Nov 14.

MACOMB COUNTY — Commuters who take westbound Interstate 94 through Macomb County will see a change in traffic patterns starting this week.

ST. CLAIR SHORES — Residents with homes on the canals along Benjamin and Statler streets will pay for a dredging process through an established special assessment district.

NOVI — A section of Novi Road stretching from Eight Mile Road to Allen Road, which carries approximately 13,700 vehicles daily, is now closed until mid-November as part of a $6.9 million resurfacing project, according to a press release from the Road Commission for Oakland County. 

CLINTON TOWNSHIP — A large road project has one local business stuck in the middle.

EASTPOINTE/WARREN — Discussions have begun between Eastpointe Community Schools and Warren officials on a traffic proposal at Crescentwood Elementary School.

The Michigan Department of Transportation activated all traffic metering lights along the Interstate 96 Flex Route in western Oakland County as of 2 p.m. Sept. 3.

NOVI — The Road Commission for Oakland County closed Haggerty Road from 13 Mile to 14 Mile roads on the border of Novi and Farmington Hills on Sept. 2.

GROSSE POINTE CITY — A project to resurface Fisher Road from Jefferson to Maumee avenues this summer is now also going to include sidewalk replacement on the Grosse Pointe City side of the street.

MOUNT CLEMENS — Closing a major street and parking lot for a summer-long construction project may seem like a death knell to local businesses, but the reality appears to be different.

EASTPOINTE — A troubled water main might be replaced in conjunction with a planned road construction project.

ROYAL OAK — The Royal Oak City Commission approved a new metered parking system in a unanimous vote July 14. Flowbird, the new system, will be installed within the next six months.

TROY — At its meeting July 8, the Troy Planning Commission unanimously approved a “street vacation” request, in which the city transfers its interest in a right of way — such as a public street, walkway or alley — to private owners.

OAKLAND TOWNSHIP — Last week’s record rainfall prompted the closure of Orion Road, at Dutton Road, in Oakland Township as crews assess the damage.

MACOMB COUNTY — City officials will be looking to transform a regional road connecting multiple Macomb County municipalities into a more pedestrian-friendly greenway.

SOUTHFIELD — The city of Southfield recently celebrated two major infrastructure and beautification projects.

MADISON HEIGHTS — Work has begun along a stretch of 11 Mile in Madison Heights that will see the road reduced from four lanes to three, including a center turn lane.

OAKLAND COUNTY — Motorists entering Interstate 96 from Milford Road might have already discovered the need to pause before entering the freeway, thanks to the new traffic light metering system that was activated June 18.

STERLING HEIGHTS — The Sterling Heights City Council is moving forward with two road projects planned for this summer.
