NOVI — Spring has officially sprung as Michigan’s unofficial orange state “flowers” — construction barrels — are in full bloom.

TROY — The Michigan Department of Transportation hosted a public hearing at the Troy Community Center April 11 to discuss the results of a sound study it conducted along portions of Interstate 75 in Troy.

ROYAL OAK — The Royal Oak City Commission has approved two changes designed to improve its downtown parking system.

BEVERLY HILLS — Construction of a new roundabout on the border of Beverly Hills and Royal Oak is set to begin approximately June 12.

TROY — The results of a long-awaited sound study by the Michigan Department of Transportation will be shared and public feedback will be gathered at an upcoming open house.

GROSSE POINTE WOODS — It’s going to cost Grosse Pointe Woods quite a bit more than officials initially anticipated to replace a water main and repave Hampton Road from Mack Avenue to Marter Road.

HUNTINGTON WOODS — Huntington Woods is setting in motion some of its road repairs for its 2023 construction season.

FARMINGTON/FARMINGTON HILLS — The Michigan Department of Transportation has announced numerous ramp closures that will affect local motorists through late fall.

BLOOMFIELD TOWNSHIP — An in-home aide has been charged after being accused of stealing thousands of dollars from an elderly woman she was hired to help.

FERNDALE/PLEASANT RIDGE — The Michigan Department of Transportation’s M-1 project in Ferndale and Pleasant Ridge resumed this week and will continue for the majority of the year.

ROYAL OAK — Back in February, the Royal Oak City Commission directed the city administration to continue work with Municipal Parking Services on changes that could be made to the downtown’s parking network.

BLOOMFIELD HILLS — The Bloomfield Hills City Commission discussed potential options to rehabilitate or replace the Chesterfield Road bridge Feb. 14.

SOUTHFIELD/DETROIT — A $54 million two-year project on Telegraph Road, from Grand River Avenue to Eight Mile Road, began March 1, but the project has been in the works for years.

EASTPOINTE — Macomb County Public  Works has begun an underground infrastructure project in Eastpointe aimed at reducing combined sewer overflows into Lake St. Clair.

ROCHESTER HILLS — The first phase of a four-year study on the Adams Road corridor is now complete, and officials are looking to the future for more answers.

GROSSE POINTE WOODS — As motorists and pedestrians know, the intersection of Mack Avenue and Vernier Road in Grosse Pointe Woods is extremely busy and can be dangerous, especially when students from Parcells Middle School and even nearby Mason Elementary School are dismissed for the day.

STERLING HEIGHTS — While there’s no promise of Easy Street, Sterling Heights officials hope that an upcoming study on traffic safety will bring more order to the roads.

CLINTON TOWNSHIP — The Clinton Township Board of Trustees had parks and recreation on their minds at its Feb. 13 meeting. While not the only subject members of the board spoke about, discussions and votes related to parks and recreation kept popping up throughout the meeting.

EASTPOINTE — Construction has already begun on the Modern Nine Main Street Project.

WARREN — At their Jan. 10 meeting, Warren City Council members voted unanimously to approve a $112,984 cost-sharing agreement with Macomb County for engineering designs linked to a construction project along Mound Road from Eight Mile Road to Interstate 696.
