TROY — The Troy Chamber of Commerce has announced the return of Fire and Flannel at the Troy Historic Village Sept. 19.

SOUTHFIELD — On Aug. 27, Easterseals gathered with local families and Ann Arbor-based Cherry Lake Publishing at the Easterseals MORC Miracle League Field on Evergreen Road to celebrate the release of “Making a Difference with Easterseals,” by Beth Finke.

TROY — The Bottomless Toy Chest provides toys, crafts and hands-on activities to hospitalized pediatric patients in different hospitals all over the country.

ST. CLAIR SHORES — “Full House” stars Dave Coulier and John Stamos recently tested their knowledge on the famous game show “Who Wants to be a Millionaire” and brought home $125,000 each for their charities.

SOUTHFIELD — After more than 10 years of operations, the Lois and Milton Zussman Center, operated by Gesher Human Services, has moved to a new facility nearly double the size of the former location.

WARREN — The Macomb Elks Club No. 2292 has existed for many years. Located at 25950 Schoenherr Road, club members have held fundraisers to help others, including veterans, children and families in need. The lodge is also available to rent for parties, baby showers and other events.

CLINTON TOWNSHIP — Polish up that classic car in the garage: August 4 is its time to shine. The Clinton Township Gratiot Cruise will be returning for the 21st year. The annual event revs up at 8 a.m. and comes to a halt at 6 p.m. The opening ceremony for the event is set for 11 a.m.

HARRISON TOWNSHIP — The 10th annual Parade of Lights is set to sail the Clinton River at 9 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 3.  The annual parade of illuminated boats will sail the Clinton River upstream from Lambrecht Marina at 9 p.m.

METRO DETROIT — Sparkle Network will again help young ladies enjoy their high school homecoming dances this fall.

CLAWSON — The city of Clawson has received grant funding in the amount of $30,000 from Oakland Livingston Human Service Agency to provide lawn cutting and snowplowing services to seniors and people with disabilities.

METRO DETROIT — A group of generous boaters are ready to set sail on Lake St. Clair next month for the second annual Splash for the Kids fundraiser.

TROY — In 2016, Nancy Hauff and four colleagues  formed the Troy chapter of 100 Women Who Care to help create a direct, positive impact on the organizations in the area.

SHELBY TOWNSHIP — Everyday Heroes Needed, a Shelby Township-based organization that works to stop child trafficking, will be hosting its Family Fun and Safety in One event from 9:30 a.m. to noon Aug. 10 at Stony Creek Metropark’s Eastwood Beach to raise awareness of child safety.
