BLOOMFIELD TOWNSHIP — History buffs and baseball fans alike might find the upcoming presentation at the Bloomfield Township Public Library on Tuesday, March 24, particularly interesting as Jose Guzman Jr. will talk about his lifelong love for baseball and dig into its history of inclusion and diversity. The presentation will take place at 7 p.m. 

BIRMINGHAM — The city of Birmingham will host a new event this spring. 

BLOOMFIELD HILLS — Bloomfield Hills Schools parents are invited to a workshop titled “Raising Healthy Children and Teenagers” 9 a.m.-12:30 p.m. Saturday, March 14.

BIRMINGHAM — Birmingham Museum Director Leslie Pielack has published a user-friendly guide that documents local history of the Underground Railroad. The book, “An Illustrated Guide to the Underground Railroad in Oakland County,” can be found at the Baldwin Public Library, among other places.

BIRMINGHAM — The Birmingham Bloomfield Art Center recently launched  Memory Café @ the BBAC, a program designed to support caregivers and people living with dementia by providing a safe place to connect.

BIRMINGHAM — The Wylie E. Groves High School Advanced Theater class won the state championship for its studio production of “Orphan Trains” at the Michigan Interscholastic Forensic Association One Act State Theatre Festival at St. Johns High School Feb. 13-14.

BIRMINGHAM — A student collaboration space and cosmetic upgrades are among the newest additions to Bingham Farms Elementary School.  The Birmingham Public Schools elementary school was originally built in 1968, and a new, 10,000-square-foot addition was completed December 2025.

BIRMINGHAM — The Birmingham Village Players will be putting on a production of “The Diary of Anne Frank” March 6-22.

FRANKLIN — Main Street Franklin was recently awarded the Spirit of Main Street Grant, a partnership between Genisys Credit Union and Main Street Oakland County. A check for $2,300 was presented at the village of Franklin regular council meeting Feb. 9.

BIRMINGHAM — The ownership of the store at 34244 Woodward Ave. changed hands from Papa Joe’s to Market Square.

BLOOMFIELD  TOWNSHIP — At the Feb. 16 Bloomfield Township Planning Commission meeting, residents spoke up about their opposition to a proposed text amendment to the township zoning ordinance and a site plan to develop an event center.

BIRMINGHAM — Throughout 2026, people from Birmingham’s local history will be highlighted in the “They Changed Birmingham” display that can be found in the central lobby of City Hall.

BLOOMFIELD HILLS — Katie Pietrosante, a Bloomfield Hills resident and senior at Marian High School, was recently recognized for her commitment to service and leadership at her school and in her community. 

BLOOMFIELD HILLS — The Village Club Enrichment Fund has started a new program that is intended to uplift the voices of local women.

BEVERLY HILLS — The community has until March 1 to share feedback with the village of Beverly Hills through the Southfield and Beverly Roads Traffic Calming Intersection Study Survey.
