SOUTHFIELD — A local environmental group will be testing four different data collection methods to assess chloride contamination in the Rouge River this winter.

SOUTHFIELD — The Oakland County Board of Commissioners’ gun buyback pilot program included four events in October 2022, with a total collection of 353 weapons, including five assault rifles, and more than $35,000 in gift cards given out in Auburn Hills, Berkley, Bloomfield Township, Ferndale, Lathrup Village, Royal Oak and Southfield.

OAKLAND COUNTY — Motorists should be on high alert for deer in the roadway this winter. Each year, there are over 50,000 deer-car crashes reported in Michigan, according to the Michigan State Police, with the majority of vehicle-deer crashes occurring in the late fall and early winter.
