CLINTON TOWNSHIP — After a long, hot night in council chambers at the Robert J. Cannon Civic Center, Clinton Township trustees voted to deny a power line project along 19 Mile Road on June 2.

HAZEL PARK — The Hazel Park Public Schools Board of Education decided last month to reinstate its superintendent, Amy Kruppe, after 100-plus days of non-disciplinary paid leave. Since then, Beverly Hinton, the board president and its spokesperson, has raised concerns about the district’s finances.

SHELBY TOWNSHIP — An officer-involved shooting that occurred June 3 left a 41-year-old man dead.

TROY — The Troy Police Department is investigating a May 30 shooting that left a 9-year-old boy with serious injuries. 

CLAWSON — An 18-year-old Troy resident is dead following a shooting that occurred on May 22 at a residence near 14 Mile Road and Renshaw Avenue, and three people are now charged for their alleged roles in the death.

ROSEVILLE — City officials wearing hard hats broke ground on a splash pad at Rotary Park May 27.

FRASER — Fraser High School will be hosting one of the largest high school wrestling camps in the state on June 14 with an impressive lineup of coaches and leaders running the event.
