TROY — Conservation and preservation efforts for Turtle Woods may see further assistance if voters approve an Oakland County Parks and Recreation Department millage proposal on the Nov. 5 ballot.

ROCHESTER HILLS — Families and friends have a new neighborhood playground to explore in Rochester Hills. The 3.7-acre Wabash Park — at 100 Wabash Road, west of Rochester Road and north of Auburn Road — has been completely redesigned with new play equipment and a whole new look.

FERNDALE — The city of Ferndale will be hosting one more community meeting on the subject of a facility at Martin Road Park.

CLINTON TOWNSHIP — Prince Drewry Park now offers a nearly half-mile path, it’s just a few feet shy, where you can do just that. The path winds around the perimeter of the park located on Quinn Road near Parker Elementary.

SOUTHFIELD — On the hot and sunny morning of Aug. 1, officials gathered at Carpenter Lake Nature Preserve, 27225 10 Mile Road, for the park’s grand reopening.

ROCHESTER — Construction on a new universal play area in Rochester begins this month.Over the next few weeks, crews will begin construction on the Memorial Grove All Abilities Park, adjacent to Halbach Field, off Woodward Avenue.

EASTPOINTE — Members of the Recreation Authority of Roseville and Eastpointe want to express their gratitude to community members for all their support this past year.

FRASER — The Fraser City Council cautiously agreed to work with the Fraser First Booster Club on updates in Steffens Park at its July 11 meeting.

MACOMB TOWNSHIP — At a small ceremony on the morning of June 9, the final piece of Pitchford Park was unveiled.

NOVI — The long-awaited splash pad memorial to the late meteorologist Jessica Starr-Rose officially opened to the public May 25, in time for the Memorial Day holiday.

BIRMINGHAM — The Department of Public Services is in the process of developing plans for the Booth Park entry plaza and trail improvement project.

CLINTON TOWNSHIP — Clinton Township is moving closer to getting a park with greater accessibility for disabled children.

FARMINGTON HILLS — Farmington Hills resident Claudette Wellons recently spent part of her Tuesday morning at the Costick Center and said it is “excellent” that parks and recreation activities are funded.
