METRO DETROIT — The solar eclipse on April 8 won't happen again in Michigan until 2099.
Those looking to safely view the potentially once-in-a-lifetime event — in which the moon will pass in front of the sun around 1:58 p.m. and reach 98% coverage at approximately 3:14 p.m. — can attend one of many local watch parties.
Some organizations are also offering space-themed stories, activities, crafts and more as early as April 3.
