SOUTHFIELD — The annual Southfield tree lighting ceremony will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Dec. 2 on the front lawn of the Southfield Municipal Campus, 26000 Evergreen Road.

CLAWSON — A Clawson City Council special meeting caused discussion throughout the council chamber among not only the residents in attendance, but between Mayor Paula Millan, council members, and Mayor-elect Susan Moffitt on Nov. 13. 

ROYAL OAK — The Michigan World War II Legacy Memorial hosted a special Veterans Day celebration on Nov. 11 that included the unveiling of the Rosie the Riveter statue.

SOUTHFIELD — The city of Southfield held its Veterans Day ceremony Nov. 7, which included speakers, a wreath-laying, a 21-gun salute and more. 

ROYAL OAK — Police have identified the 83-year-old man who was killed on Oct. 24 at a home on Sheridan Drive, and the Oakland County Prosecutor’s Office has charged a 35-year-old woman with first-degree murder in the killing. 

ROYAL OAK — November is Prematurity Awareness Month, a time dedicated to raising awareness about premature births and the challenges faced by preemies and their families. 

ROYAL OAK/CLAWSON — The Nov. 4 election results are in, creating a new mix of people to sit on the Royal Oak City Commission and the Clawson City Council.

CLAWSON — The Clawson Planning Commission unanimously approved a site plan application for 860 Badder Ave., off Rochester Road north of 14 Mile Road, for the applicant to use the vacant building for a primary caregiver cannabis facility. 

ROYAL OAK — A resolution to initiate a Safe Routes to School infrastructure program was unanimously approved by the Royal Oak City Commission Oct. 13. 

ROYAL OAK — The Orson Starr House, a historic landmark in the city of Royal Oak, celebrated 180 years on Oct. 19 with a special birthday party.
