WARREN — Wearing dress uniforms and led by a bagpipe-playing officer, the Warren Police Department Honor Guard filed into Woodside Bible Church in Warren to begin the promotion and appointment ceremony on Feb. 24.

WARREN — On Feb. 28, Gov. Gretchen Whitmer and the Michigan Economic Development Corp. announced two business expansion projects in Michigan, one in Warren and the other in Jackson.

WARREN — Four suspects could face life in prison for an alleged armed robbery and assault with intent to murder in January.

WARREN — The city of Warren recently received its first payment from the opioid settlement of $567.383.61.  Attorneys general around the country joined forces to go after the prescription drug companies that produce opioids, which include oxycodone (OxyContin), hydrocodone (Vicodin), morphine, and methadone.

WARREN — A 13-year-old student from Lois E. Carter Middle School got an ambulance ride to the hospital for observation on Feb. 6 after she reportedly consumed a cookie that contained THC.

CENTER LINE — The Center Line Department of Public Safety has a new sleuth on the force helping to keep its residents safe.

WARREN — At their Jan. 10 meeting, Warren City Council members voted unanimously to approve a $112,984 cost-sharing agreement with Macomb County for engineering designs linked to a construction project along Mound Road from Eight Mile Road to Interstate 696.

WARREN — At their meeting on Jan. 24, members of the Warren City Council voted to demolish the smokestack at the city’s Waste Water Treatment Plant.

WARREN — As of Feb. 2, four candidates had officially filed to run for mayor of Warren.

WARREN — Warren City Council members approved the redistricting map for city’s council districts days before their Jan. 10 council meeting. The Redistricting Commission met on Jan. 10 to vote on the already approved map.

WARREN — One of Warren’s own has been appointed to the bench of the 37th District Court. Steve Bieda was appointed on Jan. 10 by Gov. Gretchen Whitmer.
