METRO DETROIT — The Salvation Army of Southeast Michigan will host its annual New Year’s Day Sale, with proceeds from all of its 29 area stores benefiting its Adult Rehabilitation Center.

Beginning at 9 a.m. on Monday, Jan. 1, customers can ring in 2024 by saving 50 percent off clothing at all of the Salvation Army’s Family Thrift Stores.

The Adult Rehabilitation Center is an independently funded, 180-day residential rehabilitation program. It provides substance-abuse rehabilitation, nutritious meals, leisure activities, individual counseling and spiritual direction, along with resources to develop life skills.

“This New Year's Sale not only provides unbeatable savings as we enter 2024, but also helps individuals working towards a fresh start in our residential rehabilitation program,"  Envoy Jacqulynn Idzior, the administrator for The ARC, said in a press release. “Every dollar spent at our stores goes directly to community members who are working to rebuild their lives, overcome substance use disorders and better contribute to society.”

In addition to affordable, gently-used clothing, The Salvation Army Thrift Stores offer merchandise in a variety of departments, including clothing, accessories, housewares, linens, furniture and more.

Most Salvation Army Thrift Stores are open from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Saturday. To learn more about specific store locations and hours, visit www.semichigan.satruck.org.
