Belgian American Association Band to host Christmas concert
The Belgian American Association Band will host a free Christmas concert with a sing-along from 7 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 13, in the gym at the St. Lucy Catholic Church, 23401 Jefferson Ave.

The band is under the direction of Dale Marzewski. The concert is free and open to the public. Freewill donations will be accepted.

 

Optimist Club to hold annual holiday celebration
Join the Optimist Club from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Dec. 9 for their annual holiday celebration at the Selinsky-Green Farmhouse Museum.

At the celebration, folks can enjoy hot chocolate, cookies and traditional carols played on the parlor’s organ. Mrs. Claus will also be in attendance for photos.

This event is free for residents and nonresidents. No registration is required.

The museum is located at 22504 E. 11 Mile Road.

 

Pottery instructor to host ornament-making workshop
At noon on Dec. 16, join Pewabic Pottery Artist and Instructor Joshua Kochis for an ornament-making workshop at the Selinsky-Green Farmhouse Museum.

The event costs $25 per person by cash or check. Checks can be made out to the Historical Society of St. Clair Shores. Registration is required as there is limited space and it can be done at the St. Clair Shores Public Library’s circulation desk. Registration has already started.

 

Library announces STEAM Stories program
The Youth Services Department at the St. Clair Shores Public Library invites children 6-10 accompanied by an adult to join them for STEAM Stories from 3 to 4 p.m. on Jan. 20.

A short story will be read for the children and they can enjoy STEAM-related hands-on projects, according to a press release.

Registration is required and starts on Jan. 8. Registration is available online at scslibrary.org, by email at SCSYouth@libcoop.net, by phone at (586) 771-9020 or in person.

The library is located at 22500 E. 11 Mile Road.

 

Another storytime session announced
The Youth Services Department at the St. Clair Shores Public Library is happy to announce another session for storytime.

This new session starts the week of Jan. 15 and runs through the week of Feb. 12.

Morning Storytime for children of all ages will take place at 9:30 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. on Wednesdays. Evening Storytime for children of all ages will take place at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesdays. Baby Storytime for children up to 18 months will take place at 9:30 a.m. on Thursdays.

Registration is required and starts on Jan. 3. Registration is available online at scslibrary.org, by email at SCSYouth@libcoop.net, by phone at (586) 771-9020 or in person. Adults must stay with children at all times. Space is limited.

 

Library invites children to 2 activities
Children of all ages are invited to drop in at the Gilstorf Meeting Room at the St. Clair Shores Public Library for two fun activities. No registration is required.

From 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Dec. 28, children are invited to get creative at the Crafternoon program. Craft materials, scissors, glue, tape, markers and crayons will be available for use. Children will also be able to fill a box with materials to take home, according to a press release.

From 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Jan. 5, children are invited to a Family Game Day. There will be board games for all ages in the Gilstorf Meeting Room for friends and family to enjoy.

“Winners get bragging rights!” the release said.
