The Rumblin’ Tumblin’ Pumpkin Rolldown turns 20
ROSEVILLE/EASTPOINTE — The Recreation Authority of Roseville & Eastpointe will hold its 20th annual Rumblin’ Tumblin’ Pumpkin Rolldown at the Spindler Park sledding hill in Eastpointe Nov 1.

The event will begin at 6 p.m. sharp. Participants can roll their pumpkins down the hill to see how gravity works on their carved pumpkins. The pumpkins must be carved to participate. Spindler Park is located at 19400 Stephens Road.

 

A lesson in history at military museum

Booked for a mystery
EASTPOINTE — The Eastpointe Memorial Library Mystery Book Club will meet at 2 p.m. Oct. 31 to discuss “Everyone in my Family has Killed Someone,” by Benjamin Stevenson. Register at the library or call (586) 445-5096. The library is located at 15875 Oak Ave.

 

Haunted places and pumpkins at library
ROSEVILLE — Two Halloween-themed events are scheduled at the Roseville Public Library.

“Haunted Michigan,” with Kathy Conder, will be held at 6 p.m. Oct. 26. During the evening, Conder will combine her love of traveling with investigating the unknown as she talks about her experiences in some of the state’s most haunted places. Registration is not required.

On Oct. 28, the library will host a pumpkin painting party from 2 to 3:30 p.m. Participants can bring a pumpkin; pie pumpkins work best. Library staff will provide the paints and supplies. Treats will be available, and guests will watch a classic Halloween special.

St. Basil harvest dinner tickets to go on sale
EASTPOINTE — Tickets are on sale for the St. Basil the Great Catholic Church harvest dinner and raffle that will be held from 2 to 6 p.m. Nov. 12. The church is located at 22860 Schroeder Ave.

The dinner menu will include pork loin with au jus and gravy, harvest beef stew, mashed redskin potatoes, homemade applesauce and more. The event will include a live and silent basket auction, and a wheelbarrow of cheer.

Tickets cost $25 presale or at the door. Tickets for children 8 and younger cost $5 each. Ticket sales will begin Oct. 28. Dine-in and carryout will be available. For tickets, call (586) 777-5610.

 

County clerk to speak about Fraud Guard Alerts program Oct. 26
CLINTON TOWNSHIP — The Eastpointe-Roseville Chamber of Commerce will hold its monthly coffee hour from 9 to 10 a.m. Oct. 26 at Resurrection Cemetery, 18201 Clinton River Road.

Macomb County Clerk/Register of Deeds Anthony G. Forlini will be the guest speaker. During the event, he will discuss the county’s Fraud Guard Alerts program, services the Clerk’s Office provides, and election worker opportunities.
