BIRMINGHAM — From March 25 to 28, Detroit was the host of the 60th conference of the National Council on Education for the Ceramic Arts, and that show has yielded two inspired ceramics exhibits that will be on display at the Birmingham Bloomfield Art Center through April 30.

BIRMINGHAM/SOUTHFIELD — Little Traverse Bay Bands of Odawa Indians elder and quillwork artist Yvonne Walker Keshick will be visiting Birmingham and Southfield to share traditions. At both events, Keshick will be joined by her daughter and fellow quillwork artist Odeimin Walker Keshick.

BLOOMFIELD TOWNSHIP/BLOOMFIELD HILLS — New York Times best-selling author Kate Messner will be coming to the Bloomfield Township Public Library at 6:30 p.m. on Monday, April 13.

BLOOMFIELD HILLS — At the Bloomfield Hills Board of Education meeting March 23, a resolution to enter into two separate interlocal agreements with the Oakland County Parks and Recreation Commission for Bowers Farm and the E.L. Johnson Nature Center passed unanimously.

BIRMINGHAM — During Birmingham Public Schools’ midwinter break, the Minor family traveled to Tanzania to deliver donations two of the Minor siblings collected for their Eagle Scout projects.

BLOOMFIELD HILLS — Cranbrook Institute of Science invites the community to bring friends and family to enjoy Crafts & Drafts on Sunday, March 29. Visitors can drink beer from the outdoor beer garden and explore a marketplace of arts and crafts from over 50 vendors.

BLOOMFIELD TOWNSHIP — As a few road paving projects have been completed under budget, some Bloomfield Township homeowners in three special assessment districts in the Kirkway and Bloomfield Village area will be receiving partial refunds.

BLOOMFIELD TOWNSHIP — History buffs and baseball fans alike might find the upcoming presentation at the Bloomfield Township Public Library on Tuesday, March 24, particularly interesting as Jose Guzman Jr. will talk about his lifelong love for baseball and dig into its history of inclusion and diversity. The presentation will take place at 7 p.m.

BIRMINGHAM — Birmingham Museum Director Leslie Pielack has published a user-friendly guide that documents local history of the Underground Railroad. The book, “An Illustrated Guide to the Underground Railroad in Oakland County,” can be found at the Baldwin Public Library, among other places.
