"Daredevil Born Again"
Action/Adventure
Disney + (also available to rent on other streaming services)
One Season (continued from previous seasons from Netflix)
Should You Watch? No

I’ll admit right now - I am a HUGE MARVEL fan. So, I was excited to hear that Disney + was bringing back Daredevil with the original actors from the Netflix long standing series.

Unfortunately, Daredevil Born Again did not live up to my expectations, but that may be due to the “buildup” for next season.

The story follows Daredevil aka Matt Murdock (Charlie Cox) as he struggles with the death of his best friend and trying to determine who is responsible for his murder. As the series plays out, Matt’s trail leads him further and further down a long list of suspects.

I believe most superhero fans would agree, when you have a superhero series, you want to see the hero and villain clashes in their suits and gadgets, and we just don’t get enough of it here in Daredevil Born Again. We do get brief Marvel appearances from White Tiger, Bullseye, Punisher and our main antagonist Wilson Fisk, but the drawn out talky-feely scenes just get to be too monotonous to tread through to get what we really want.

If you are big fan of the original series or a Marvel fanatic you are probably going to watch out of obligation. I just hope season 2 picks up speed.

"1923"
Western Drama
Paramount +
Two Seasons
Should You Watch? Yes

We have the same issue with season one with 1923 as we did with the Daredevil Born Again. The buildup through season one is slow and arduous, but the mucking through it really makes for a thrilling season two here with 1923!

The Dutton family fights endlessly to save their ranch from rich entrepreneur Donald Whitfield (Timothy Dalton) and his money hungry henchman Banner Creighton (Jerome Flynn).

The Dutton family hopes rely on Spencer Dutton (Brendon Sklenar) getting home from Europe quickly to use his army and hunting skills to ward of numerous attacks. And what an adventure home it is for Spencer, as well as his bride Alexandra Dutton (Julia Schlaepfer) who has her own journey to endure to be with her husband.

Of course, there are several side stories that will keep your interest along the way too. Especially the story of Teonna Rainwater (Aminah Nieves) a young Indian girl fleeing the authorities after being beaten and abused at a religious school for Native American girls.

Helen Mirren (Cara Dutton) is an amazing force to reckon with on the Dutton home front and I have to say Brandon Sklenar’s career is about to explode from his portrayal in this series.

A must watch for any Yellowstone fan. I suggest watching them in order though, so you understand the family tree a bit better.

"White Lotus"
Drama/Mystery/Comedy
Max
Season 3
Should You Watch? Yes

The third season of White Lotus plays out as a “who done it”. We open the season with wild gunfire, resort guests fleeing and screaming and a body, but we don’t know who the shooter is.

Then we drop back to the beginning as our motley crew and suspect guests arrive to the island for their week stay.

The season slowly progresses through our guests stay as we are entertained watching disputes, sexual tension, fights, mistakes, and as the dilemma ensues, as we ask ourselves, “who is the shooter?”

White Lotus season 3 does move a bit slow but there’s enough craziness, arguing and mystery amongst our guest and resort employees to keep your attention until the end. The format was a nice twist to the popular series.
