New cops sworn in
During the Dec. 5 Sterling Heights City Council meeting, new police officers John-Mark Branch, Danny Delly, Kelly Dupuis, Max Eckhout and Erin Loomis took their oath of duty before police Chief Dale Dwojakowski and the public.

During the meeting, Dwojakowski explained that “Sterling Heights has gained” amid a tough, competitive hiring situation for local police departments, adding that all of these new officers “have extensive experience” and came from other police departments.

“Every time I tell you we’re back to full staffing, and then people retire,” Dwojakowski said. “So it’s a never-ending revolving door for hiring.”
