1. Festival in the Park
June 25 • Madison Heights
Considered one of the most popular events in the city of Madison Heights, Festival in the Park will feature food trucks, bounce houses, a face painter, a balloon artist, henna tattoos, live music and fireworks June 25 at Civic Center Park, 360 W. 13 Mile Road. The fun will begin at 6 p.m., with the band The Ones and Twos taking the stage at 7 p.m. and fireworks being deployed from a small hill at the north end of the park around 10 p.m. People are advised to park in surrounding neighborhoods or Lamphere High School, 610 W. 13 Mile Road. 3. American Polish Festival and Craft Show
June 23-25 • Sterling Heights
The 41st annual American Polish Festival and Craft Show will take place June 23-25 at the American-Polish Century Club, 33204 Maple Lane Drive in Sterling Heights. Festival hours are 4-11 p.m. Friday, 10 a.m.-11 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m.-7 p.m. Sunday; craft show hours are 4-9 p.m. Friday, 10 a.m.-9 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m.-7 p.m. Sunday. The event will have Polish and American food, music, dancers, arts and crafts, and a pierogi-eating contest. Admission costs $5; guests 17 and younger can attend for free. Parking and shuttles will be available for free at Sterling Heights High School, 12901 15 Mile Road, and the Warren Consolidated Schools Career Prep Center, 12200 15 Mile Road, both in Sterling Heights. 4. Tons O' Trucks
June 24 • Macomb Township
Kids can marvel, climb, honk and creatively explore more than 40 vehicles as part of Tons O’ Trucks & Wheeled Wonders, scheduled for 10 a.m.-1 p.m. June 24 at Seneca Middle School, 47200 Heydenreich Road in Macomb Township. The free event will also include inflatables, face painting, train rides, refreshments, giveaways and more. Families can park at Dakota High School, 21051 21 Mile Road. 5. Makers' Market
June 24 • Rochester
The first Downtown Rochester Makers’ Market will be held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. June 24 on West Fourth Street, between Main and Walnut. The event — which replaces the former Junk in the Trunk and Thursday Night Market events — will include artisan vendors, crafters, vintage collectors and makers selling their handcrafted goods, wares and other specialty items.
