CENTER LINE — Center Line High’s Janae Smith will continue a family tradition this fall when she suits up as a member of the St. Clair Community College women’s basketball team. Smith will be the third member of her household to play women’s college basketball. Janae’s oldest sister, Jade, played at Schoolcraft College and Rochester College. Her other sister, Jewel, will be a sophomore at St. Clair CC — where she and Janae will be teammates.

HARRISON TOWNSHIP — Harrison Township L’Anse Creuse senior Brooke Nadolny has been a mainstay in the softball record books, but that’s not all she wants to be known for. Several colleges were vying for Nadolny’s services, including Michigan State University, Purdue University and Ohio University. Nadolny ultimately signed to play at Wayne State University, spurning high-level Division 1 programs for a D-2 program close to home.
