HARRISON TOWNSHIP — Harrison Township L’Anse Creuse senior Brooke Nadolny has been a mainstay in the softball record books, but that’s not all she wants to be known for. Several colleges were vying for Nadolny’s services, including Michigan State University, Purdue University and Ohio University. Nadolny ultimately signed to play at Wayne State University, spurning high-level Division 1 programs for a D-2 program close to home.

WARREN — Warren Mott baseball coach Shawn Maloney said his team has performed well in every phase of the game so far this season. “We’re fielding at a very high level,” said Maloney, who picked up his 300th coaching win earlier this season. “The pitching has been strong and our hitting has been unreal.” The Marauders — 12-2 overall and 6-0 in the Macomb Area Conference Gold Division at press time — are averaging 9 runs per game. Maloney said hitters all through the batting order have contributed.
