SHELBY TOWNSHIP  —  A Shelby Township man won first place for the Most Outrageous Boat Award at Autorama in Detroit in early March. Anthony Currier was invited to unveil his boat, which he spent many years building, at the show and ended up winning an award in offshore racing for all his hard work.

SHELBY TOWNSHIP — A man from Shelby Township was arraigned at the 41-A District Court Feb. 28 for the death of a 15-year-old in a fatal crash that occurred in Shelby Township in January. Albert Donadio, 33, was arraigned on one count of operating under the influence of drugs causing death, a 15-year felony, and reckless driving causing death.

UTICA  — The city of Utica is considering making a change to the location of its city buildings and selling the present sites of those buildings. The proposed location that the city is looking at to relocate its buildings is the old packing plant on the north end of Pioneer Park, off Cass Avenue, across from Ruby Street. The entrance would be located off Cass Avenue.
