MACOMB COUNTY — As confetti is cleared from Times Square and late-made resolutions begin to be broken, it can be easy to leave 2023 behind in favor of what 2024 will bring.

CLINTON TOWNSHIP — Residents of North Miles Road, a neighborhood located off of Little Mack Avenue and west of Groesbeck Highway, came out to speak about a paving special assessment at the Dec. 4 Clinton Township Board of Trustees meeting.

HARRISON TOWNSHIP — A new development in a nearly two-year-long residential development saga occurred at the Dec. 11 Harrison Township Board of Trustees meeting as the board unanimously approved a rezoning request for former L’Anse Creuse Public Schools land.

MACOMB TOWNSHIP — Residents and organizations looking to make the most out of Macomb Township’s newest parks have some additional fine print to read following the Dec. 6 Board of Trustees meeting.

MOUNT CLEMENS — For its penultimate meeting of 2023, the full Mount Clemens City Commission showed up on Dec. 4 for a regular meeting headlined by water project funding and a work session about the apartment complex set to replace the old motel at 1 North River Road.

MACOMB COUNTY — Macomb County Executive Mark Hackel took to the Macomb Center for the Performing Arts stage on Dec. 6 to deliver his 11th State of the County speech.

CLINTON TOWNSHIP — America’s pastime will become more accessible next year as a new adaptive baseball field will be built at Neil Reid Park in Clinton Township.

HARRISON TOWNSHIP — Frank Wojtal, 50, was a husband, a father and a member of his community. On Nov. 12, Frank was killed when he was hit by a car while crossing Metropolitan Parkway in Harrison Township.

MOUNT CLEMENS — It is not just you that is busy this time of year. The Anton Art Center is juggling two main events in December, hosting the solo exhibition debut of a Sterling Heights artist and the 45th annual Holiday Market.

MOUNT CLEMENS — Macomb Place and the Cherry Street Mall are the center of many public events in the “Bath City.” Next year, a massive overhaul will reshape the cultural core of Mount Clemens.

CLINTON TOWNSHIP — An 84-year-old Harrison Township man has been arraigned in connection with the death of a pedestrian in July.  Richard Munro was arraigned in the 41B District Court in Clinton Township on Nov. 28 for the July 3 death of a 47-year-old Troy resident, Mehn A. Sinh, who was crossing Jefferson Avenue.

CLINTON TOWNSHIP — Culinary arts students at Clintondale High School had a special day in class on Nov. 6 when Clintondale grad and Meadowbrook Country Club executive chef Nathan Oldham returned to his old stomping grounds.
