ROSEVILLE/TROY — A 24-year-old man from Troy is facing charges for a shooting at a Roseville party store.
On Thursday, June 1, Kylen Mancini allegedly had a verbal altercation with a person in the parking lot of Roseville Party Store, 15520 Frazho Road, east of Hayes Road. The person entered his vehicle and began driving away. As the person was leaving, Mancini allegedly fired multiple shots at the person’s vehicle, according to a press release from the Macomb County Prosecutor’s Office.
There were no injuries.
Mancini was arraigned Aug. 29 in the 39th District Court in Roseville. He is charged with assault with intent to murder, a life felony; carrying a concealed weapon, a five-year felony; assault with a dangerous weapon, a four-year felony; and two counts of felony firearm, a two-year felony.
“In this case, a verbal altercation escalated into serious consequences. Disagreements should never result in violence,” Macomb County Prosecutor Peter J. Lucido stated in a press release.
Mancini was arraigned by Judge Joseph Boedeker, who set bond at $250,000 cash or surety with no 10%. If someone posts Mancini’s bond, Mancini is to have no possession of weapons, no contact with the victim or witnesses, and he must have a mental health evaluation before being released.
A probable cause conference was scheduled for Wednesday, Sept. 6, and a preliminary exam was scheduled for Wednesday, Sept. 13. Both will be in front of 39th District Court Judge Alyia Hakim.
At press time, Mancini did not have an attorney listed. He requested a court-appointed attorney.
According to court records, in 2017, Mancini appeared in Roseville’s district court for fighting on school property and was fined $190.
