Shelby Township police are asking for the public’s assistance to identify a vehicle that they say was involved in the hit-and-run of a valet at the Palazzo Grande Oct. 27.

SHELBY TOWNSHIP — The Shelby Township Police Department is looking for assistance from the public in identifying a person involved in a hit-and-run incident at the Palazzo Grande at approximately 8 p.m. Oct. 27.
According to police, a black Ram 1500 Classic pickup truck struck a valet driver in the north parking lot of the banquet hall, located at 54660 Van Dyke Ave., which caused injuries to the valet. The driver left the scene after checking on the valet, but she did not provide any contact information.
Detective Jordan Haughee, of the Shelby Township Police Department, said investigators are just looking for any information on the driver of the Ram pickup.
“A valet driver was struck and his leg was run over. It appears to be accidental but the driver did not leave any information and left the scene after asking the Valet what to do. My hope is that they come forward to admit their mistake in the leaving and this can be nothing bigger than it is. The valet had minor injuries from the crash and is expected to make a full recovery,” he said via email.
The pickup truck driver is described as a 30- to 35-year-old white woman with long brown hair who was wearing a gray jacket. There was also a white man in the passenger seat wearing a black suit, police said.
