Republican Kuhn wins race for Michigan House District 57

METRO DETROIT — According to unofficial results the morning of Nov. 8, with 100% of precincts reporting in both Oakland and Macomb counties, Republican Thomas Kuhn has prevailed in his bid for the 57th District of the Michigan House of Representatives. 

Kuhn had 17,606 votes total between Oakland and Macomb counties. His Democratic opponent Aisha Farooqi had 15,842 votes total between Oakland and Macomb counties. 

In Oakland County, Farooqi won with 6,796 votes, while Kuhn took 6,177 votes. 

In Macomb County, Kuhn won with 11,429 votes, while Farooqi took 9,046 votes. 

The district includes parts of Madison Heights, Troy and Sterling Heights. The race was for one two-year term. State representatives earn a salary of $71,685.
