SHELBY TOWNSHIP — The Packard Proving Grounds Model Train Show will return from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Nov. 25 at the Packard Proving Grounds, 49965 Van Dyke Ave. in Shelby Township.

The show will feature model trains and time for people to connect with fellow model train enthusiasts. Attendees might buy some additions to their model railroads from numerous vendors who will be present.

There will be a variety of model trains spanning eras from the 1920s to modern designs. The vendors will offer everything from vintage trains to the latest digital models.

“What really makes this a success is Packard’s willingness to embrace us and a great group of volunteers that are second to none,” event founder Mike Neuendorf said in a press release.

Admission is complimentary for children ages 11 and younger when accompanied by a paying adult. There is a $6 entrance fee for adults.

“I don’t care if this is your first look at a train show or you’ve been doing it for 30 years — there’s something here for you,” Neuendorf said.

The next day at the proving grounds, there will be a wedding garage sale from 1 to 3 p.m. that will offer an opportunity for future brides    to meet, share ideas and find some deals on wedding decor.

“The opportunity offers a chance for future brides to meet past brides and pass along ideas. The Garage Sale is an afternoon of fun, connecting with others and seeing your wedding plans come to life,” Jennifer Reynolds said.

Amanda Demo-Sanford, who handles public relations and digital marketing for the Packard Proving Grounds, said this event helps make weddings more environmentally friendly.

“Building on the success of previous events, this Fall Wedding Garage Sale is a must-attend for couples seeking a sustainable and unique touch to their wedding day. Explore a curated selection of gently used centerpieces, vintage decor, and pre-loved wedding items, all contributing to a greener celebration,” she said.

Admission costs $1 per person.
