WARREN — Police said a motorcyclist died in a crash in Warren Sept. 13.

At approximately 3:30 p.m. Tuesday, Warren police and firefighters were dispatched to the area of 13 Mile and Schoenherr roads for a report of a crash involving a motorcycle and a pickup truck. When officers arrived, they found the operator of the motorcycle, a 37-year-old Warren man, to be severely injured. He was later pronounced dead at the scene, police confirmed in a press release.

An investigation showed that the motorcycle was westbound on 13 Mile when the truck attempted to turn north onto Schoenherr from eastbound 13 Mile. The motorcycle struck the pickup and then hit another vehicle, police said.

The motorcyclist was not wearing a helmet. Drugs or alcohol do not appear to be a factor, according to the release.

Warren Police Commissioner Bill Dwyer offered his condolences to the man’s family.

“It is unfortunate when somebody loses their life in a traffic crash,” he said in the release.

The man’s name was not released pending notification of family members. The investigation is ongoing.
