Michigan Design Center invites public to ‘ArtWalk at MDC’

TROY — The Michigan Design Center in Troy is inviting the public in to join them for its “ArtWalk at MDC” on Friday, March 22.

During the event, the Michigan Design Center will transform into a haven for art enthusiasts, featuring multiple professional artists whose work will be shown in showrooms and studios throughout the building.

Attendees will have the exclusive opportunity to meet more than 25 artists and curators, gaining insights into their creative processes and inspirations. Attendees can explore works in all mediums including painting, sculpture, glass, woven art, and more. A selection of art works will be available to purchase. There is no admission to attend the open house.

The ArtWalk at MDC will take place from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Michigan Design Center, located at 1700 Stutz Drive, Suite 25 in Troy. More information is available at www.michigandesign.com/event/art-walk-mdc.

The event will include two art-focused presentations in the Mid-America Room, Suite 86. The first takes place at 11 a.m. and is titled “Artful Spaces: Harnessing Color, Texture and Personality.” The TRA Art Group will demonstrate how to use original art to bring unique color, texture and personality to any space. The second takes place at 1 p.m. and is titled “Detroit Arts Mashup.” It will be a panel discussion with six Metro-Detroit based artists making waves in the city's art scene.

Additionally, a live demonstration will take place from noon to 1 p.m. Kader Boly of CAI Designs will perform a live art demonstration and interview in Suite 82. The piece created during the demonstration will be raffled off afterward.
