Prior to being named superintendent for Glenbard Township High School District No. 87 in 2006, Meissen served in various building level administrative positions as principal and assistant principal for both the middle and high school levels, and held the position of athletic director in DeForest, Wis., for three years. Meissen holds a doctorate in educational administration, a Master of Science in counseling and guidance, and a Bachelor of Science in social welfare from the University of Wisconsin.

Lee Pasquarella of Cascade Consulting Inc. was hired by the board to conduct the national search and received more than 60 applications in response to the open position. Through prescreening and evaluation, the board narrowed the pool to the selected three candidates at a special board meeting on Feb.1.

The interview process begins Feb. 9, with scheduled meetings with various employment groups. The community is invited to attend a meet-and-greet reception at the DiAnne M. Pellerin Center, 24001 Frederick Pankow Blvd., Clinton Township, from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Feb. 10. Interviews will conclude the process at 9 a.m. Feb. 11 at the DiAnne M. Pellerin Center.
