TROY — One Troy School District staff member got a surprise March 20.

FRASER — Mental health among young people is an ever-growing concern. The students of the Fraser Be Nice Club took steps to try and address it with their first-ever Winter Wellness Night.

WEST BLOOMFIELD — The West Bloomfield School District is seeking a $148 million bond proposal, and voters will have an opportunity to decide whether or not to approve it at a special election in May.

TROY — With Troy voters’ approval of a new bond last year, Troy School District officials knew they would have an influx of funds coming into the district; they used the opportunity to show students how the bond process works in real time.

BIRMINGHAM — Each year, Character.org recognizes schools and districts that have been intentional, proactive and comprehensive about incorporating character into all aspects of school life. Four Michigan schools received this designation this year, three of which are part of Birmingham Public Schools.

GROSSE POINTE WOODS — An allocation from the Grants and Community Services Division of the Michigan State Police will enable the Grosse Pointe Woods Public Safety Department to install a school resource officer at Grosse Pointe North High School starting this fall.

MADISON HEIGHTS — In November 2021, voters in the Madison District Public Schools approved a bond issue that will fund renovations at buildings including the Early Childhood Center and Madison High School, modernizing their systems for improved comfort, efficiency and security.
