Grosse Pointe Restaurant Week serves up something for all tastes

GROSSE POINTES — Whether there’s a restaurant you already love or a new one you’ve been meaning to try, Grosse Pointe Restaurant Week is a great excuse to dine out.

From April 28 to May 4, eateries that serve up everything from sandwiches to steaks to sweet treats are participating in the Grosse Pointe Chamber of Commerce’s eighth annual Grosse Pointe Restaurant Week.

“The dining scene in Grosse Pointe is eclectic and expansive, and we are delighted to showcase the uniqueness … each participating restaurant has to offer,” Grosse Pointe Chamber of Commerce Director of Membership Linda Reid stated in a press release.

There are 31 restaurants participating this year, and GPCC Executive Director Jennifer Palms Boetttcher said that four are new either to this event or to the community: Koi New Asian, The Charlevoix, The Cracked Egg, and Harvard Bar and Grill.

“The popularity of Grosse Pointe Restaurant Week has grown from year to year,” she said in an email interview. “It’s a wonderful opportunity for residents and visitors to explore the delicious dining landscape in Grosse Pointe, with prices that are easy to swallow.”

Participating restaurants offer special prices or special menu items in conjunction with restaurant week, but Palms Boettcher said the increased number of diners visiting more than makes up for any revenue lost due to discounts.

“During Grosse Pointe Restaurant Week, there is no excuse not to eat out!” Palms Boettcher said. “Reservations are not required, but highly recommended.”
