Troy Restaurant week serves up delicious deals

By Terry Oparka

Troy Restaurant Week returns with a flourish Aug. 21-26.

Sponsored in partnership with the Troy Chamber of Commerce, the six-day dining event will feature three-course lunch specials for $15 per person and three-course dinner specials for $25, $30 or $35 per person at more than a dozen participating restaurants.

Deb DePue, director of marketing and communications for the Troy chamber, said that the three price points for dinner make it easier for the restaurateurs to offer their fare and for patrons to try a new restaurant for the lower price.

Sixteen restaurants are participating in the event:

• Benihana
• BRIO Tuscan Grille
• Café Sushi
• Franco’s Gaelic and Garlic
• Kona Grill
• Kruse & Muer on Wilshire
• Loccino Italian Grill & Bar
• McCormick & Schmick’s Seafood
• Mon Jin Lau
• Morton’s The Steakhouse
• Ocean Prime
• Picano’s
• Ruth’s Chris Steak House
• The Capital Grille
• The Melting Pot of Troy
• Tre Monti Ristorante

“Café Sushi is new this time,” DePue said.

Nine of the participating restaurants will support charities of their choice with various promotions during Troy Restaurant Week.

For example, Morton’s will donate a portion of the sales of a featured martini to Birdies for the Brave, and McCormick & Schmick’s will hold a raffle in support of Make-A-Wish Foundation. Kruse & Muer will support the Boys & Girls Club of Troy, Franco’s will support the Rotary Club of Troy and the Melting Pot will support St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital with various promotions during the event.

“As you’d expect with Troy Restaurant Week, diners can experience amazing meals and very affordable prices at some of the finest fine dining restaurants in the area,” said Michele Hodges, Troy chamber president.
