TROY — The city of Troy recently purchased three parcels of land adjacent to Sylvan Glen Lake Park, on Rochester Road, which will be added to the park land.

OAKLAND COUNTY — On Aug. 10, the Oakland County Board of Commissioners voted to put a measure on the November ballot for all Oakland County residents to decide whether they wish to approve a new millage and opt into an agreement with the Suburban Mobility Authority for Regional Transportation as a county instead of on a community-by-community basis.

TROY — Troy residents interested in making their voices heard in regard to their city’s goals in the near future will have the chance to do so with a new survey gauging residents’ priorities.

MACOMB TOWNSHIP — The candidates who won their respective state and county primary races Aug. 2 are now preparing their campaigns for the general election Nov. 8.

FRASER — On Aug. 2, Fraser residents voted to approve a new millage supporting the Fraser Public Library. It will replace a previous millage that has remained unchanged since 1963.

CLINTON TOWNSHIP/FRASER — The candidates who won their respective state and county primary races Aug. 2 are now preparing their campaigns for the general election Nov. 8.

HARRISON TOWNSHIP — Democrat Dana Camphous-Peterson and Republican Barbara Zinner will run against each other in the general election Nov. 8 for a seat representing the Macomb County Board of Commissioners 9th District.

On Aug. 2, Fraser residents voted to approve a new millage supporting the Fraser Public Library. It will replace a previous millage that has remained unchanged since 1963. It was approved with 1,870 votes being cast in support of it, which was 57.

HARRISON TOWNSHIP — The Harrison Township Fire Department and Macomb County Sheriff’s Office are investigating a fire that broke out in the early hours of July 24 that left one woman dead. The fire took place at the Shores of Lake St. Clair Apartments.
