TROY/ROYAL OAK — The board of the Michigan World War II Memorial is inviting the public to join them for an educational night at the American Polish Cultural Center in Troy as they provide updates on the memorial project and feature opportunities to learn more about Poland’s history during the war.

FRASER — The Fraser Public Library will be going to the City Council on Thursday, Dec. 8, to ask their approval for a bond, but library officials want to get the word out that this will not mean additional taxes collected from Fraser residents.

FRASER — On Nov. 11, the Fraser Educational Foundation surprised five teachers in the district with its annual educational grants, providing schools and classrooms with new resources not included in their regular budgets.

FRASER — A 15-year-old Fraser High School student has been charged by the Macomb County Prosecutor’s Office with calling in a bomb threat to his school. The student was reportedly brought in by school staff on Dec. 5 because of another unrelated conduct violation.

OAKLAND COUNTY — The Oakland County Parks and Recreation Department is asking residents to make their voices heard and share what they would like to see from their local parks and community activities.

TROY — On Nov. 17, Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer and the Michigan Community Service Commission recognized 46 individuals, businesses and nonprofit organizations as recipients of the 2022 Governor’s Service Awards and applauded their commitment to volunteerism, service or philanthropy.
