WARREN — Since 1986, Warren Woods Public Schools alumni have teed up on the golf course for the annual Ralph Weibel Alumni Golf Outing.

CLINTON TOWNSHIP — Clintondale Community Schools is embarking on a $5.2 million project to upgrade facilities around the district, including improvements and new field turf at Clintondale High School’s Don Seiferlein Stadium.

ROYAL OAK — Two Royal Oak High School students recently received accolades for their documentaries from the 54th annual Michigan Student Film Festival, the country’s longest-running film festival presented by Digital Arts, Film and Television.

FARMINGTON HILLS — Carol McGorisk, a kindergarten teacher at Longview Elementary School, was presented with the Judy White-Ora Teaching with Heart and Soul Award during the Farmington Public Schools Board of Education meeting June 7.

NOVI — Lisa Chai, who recently graduated from Novi High School, placed third in the annual Oakland County Treasurer’s Financial Literacy Arts Contest.

NOVI — The Detroit Catholic Central High School academic team took home the High School National Championship Tournament title from National Academic Quiz Tournaments in Atlanta May 27-29.

NOVI — The Novi Community School District Board of Education unanimously approved the hiring of Michael Giromini as the assistant superintendent of academics during its regular meeting June 9.

WARREN — On most mornings, officer Nick Lienemann of the Warren Police Department can be found walking the halls of Cousino High School, exchanging pleasantries with staff and students. He’s not there to get anyone in trouble, but to instead help students.

BIRMINGHAM — Birmingham Public Schools and the Birmingham Rotary Club have been looking for ways to improve mental health in students. They have decided to work together and focus their efforts on providing service dogs at the schools.
