One dead, one injured after car accident

TROY — The Troy police are investigating a car accident involving two pedestrians that left one of the two pedestrians dead and the other hospitalized.

The incident occurred at approximately 8:08 p.m. on Nov. 17. According to police, a car being driven by a 43-year-old Troy woman was headed southbound on Livernois Road and was turning onto West Big Beaver Road when it struck the two pedestrians. Investigators added that multiple witnesses said that the car was proceeding on a green light and that there was no indication that alcohol or drugs were involved.

The pedestrians are both residents of Great Britain. The deceased individual was identified as a 48-year old man, while the other, a 51-year-old man, was last listed in stable condition. The intersection of Livernois and Big Beaver was closed off for part of the evening as the scene was investigated.
