MACOMB TOWNSHIP — At its July 27 meeting, the Macomb Township Board of Trustees honored 15-year-old Sophia Vitale for her lifesaving actions.

BLOOMFIELD TOWNSHIP —  A public safety millage renewal in Bloomfield Township, which also includes a millage increase, got the green light from voters Aug. 2.

METRO DETROIT — Tudor Dixon has emerged as the presumed winner of the Aug. 2 race for a Republican gubernatorial nominee. 

GROSSE POINTE CITY — When Grosse Pointe City Councilman John Stempfle announced he was stepping down from his post in June because he and his wife were moving out of the community, it was a loss that resounded beyond the City’s borders.

GROSSE POINTE PARK — Less than three years after he was appointed Grosse Pointe Park’s city manager in September 2019 at the age of 30, Nick Sizeland has been honored by his municipal peers.

BLOOMFIELD HILLS — The city of Bloomfield Hills asks residents who are connected to the water system to follow a series of new irrigation guidelines this summer after finding a deficient water valve that provides water throughout the city.

FERNDALE — On July 11, the Ferndale City Council approved two items regarding the replacement of sidewalk flags.

UTICA — Earlier in the year, the Utica City Council allocated money in the 2022-23 fiscal year budget to redesign the city’s website to provide more user-friendly features for residents and businesses.

STERLING HEIGHTS — There’s no secret code to participate in a new program that connects residents to a building inspector’s guidance on home improvement projects.

HARRISON TOWNSHIP — The Harrison Township Board of Trustees met for a lengthy meeting on July 11, spending much of the time discussing a proposal to share the cost of having a Macomb County sheriff deputy in L’anse Creuse High School.

MOUNT CLEMENS — The Mount Clemens City Commission met on July 5 and unanimously supported a social district permit for Gumbo’s LLC.

CLINTON TOWNSHIP — The Clinton Township Board of Trustees approved an ordinance allowing food trucks in the community at its July 11 meeting.

MACOMB TOWNSHIP — The Macomb Township Board of Trustees voted to keep its current water rate at its July 13 meeting.

HARRISON TOWNSHIP — The Harrison Township Board of Trustees accepted and filed its 2021 audit report at its June 27 meeting.
