ROYAL OAK — The Royal Oak Chamber of Commerce will fire up its clay, glass and metal show, called “Art of Fire,” from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday, June 11, and from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday, June 12.

DETROIT — A significant local gay artist is being introduced to a new generation of artists and art aficionados as part of a sweeping series of art exhibitions throughout the metro area.

ROYAL OAK — On Monday, May 30, the city of Royal Oak hosted its first Memorial Day ceremony in Centennial Commons, the city’s new downtown park, with a Field of Honor — 7-foot-tall flags for all 188 Royal Oak residents listed on the veterans memorial — and a special guest speaker.

ROYAL OAK — On May 9, the Royal Oak City Commission narrowly extinguished a resolution to add the sale and consumption of recreational marijuana at Arts, Beats & Eats, the city’s banner Labor Day festival, Sept. 2-5.
