MACOMB COUNTY — Two Macomb County leaders have been recognized by the federal government for their community policing efforts.

MOUNT CLEMENS — On March 13, Fraser resident Hunter Locke-Hughes was ordered to serve 90 months to 30 years in prison on first-degree child abuse and involuntary manslaughter charges in the drowning death of Terry Adams, a 6-year-old special needs child.

CLINTON TOWNSHIP — Republican Dan Kress won the Feb. 27 election for the open Clinton Township Board of Trustees seat for a partial term which will be up for election again this August.

BLOOMFIELD HILLS — Cranbrook robotics teams recently competed in the state championships, where four out of eight Cranbrook Upper School robotics teams qualified for the VEX Robotics World Championship in Dallas in April. Only 16 teens were awarded world-qualifying spots.

BIRMINGHAM — After last year’s success, Birmingham Next will be holding another year of Birmingham’s Big Night Out at 7 p.m. April 4 at the Daxton Hotel, 298 S. Old Woodward Ave.
