SHELBY TOWNSHIP — A law enforcement program has returned to Utica Community Schools that allows high school students to learn about the career directly from a uniformed police officer after a nearly 10-year absence.

SHELBY TOWNSHIP/UTICA — The votes are in and the election results for Shelby Township and Utica are done being tallied.

STERLING HEIGHTS — Sterling Heights officials believe it’s safe to say yet again that their city is the safest big city in Michigan, based on recent FBI crime figures.

WARREN — The Warren Community Response Emergency Team gave a presentation at the City Council’s committee of the whole meeting Oct. 15 to share what they do and how it helps the community.

MACOMB COUNTY — Macomb Community College is continuing its mission of educating students.  

WARREN — Warren will honor its veterans at the first “Honoring Heroes with Harmony” celebration at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Nov. 15, in the first-floor conference room at City Hall.

ROSEVILLE — At press time, Roseville High School students were facing possible criminal charges after they were involved in two fights at school during the morning of Nov. 6.

FARMINGTON HILLS — Aside from casting votes for candidates running for elected offices, voters in Farmington Hills also had four proposals to consider during the general election Nov. 5.

FARMINGTON — This year has been one of celebration for Farmington, as it is the city’s 200th year of existence.

ST. CLAIR SHORES — According to a press release sent by the Macomb County Prosecutor’s Office, a 55-year-old man has been arraigned for alleged assault and hate crimes against volunteers handing out political campaign materials.

WARREN — The Warren Police Department called a press conference Oct. 30 to address a $60 million lawsuit brought by Brittiny Turner, who was injured in a car crash that allegedly resulted from a high-speed police chase.

CENTER LINE/WARREN/STERLING HEIGHTS — During the general election Nov. 5, a number of school board members retained their seats while a few challengers were elected to public office for the first time.

ST. CLAIR SHORES — According to a press release, South Lake Schools received a $41,000 grant from the Margaret Dunning Foundation to purchase and install a new scissor lift for their automotive program at South Lake High School.

WARREN — Elected officials encouraged Warren city clerk Sonja Buffa to deliver the results of the Nov. 5 election in a timely manner, and she did.

ST. CLAIR SHORES — An Indiana girl traveled to St. Clair Shores to donate her hair to make wigs for kids in need.

ST. CLAIR SHORES — Four agenda items pertaining to the projects at the St. Clair Shores Police Department’s station and the St. Clair Shores Central Fire Station were approved in a 5-2 vote at the City Council meeting on Oct. 21.

MADISON HEIGHTS — Today, Madison Heights residents enjoy cleaner air, safer roads and more green space thanks in part to Lindell “Lin” Ross. The former City Council member helped shut down a trash incinerator, pushed for five lanes on 13 Mile Road instead of four, and rescued Suarez Friendship Woods from development into homes.

WEST BLOOMFIELD — From the perspective of Trustee Howard Rosenberg, a “big moment” for West Bloomfield Township occurred during a Board of Trustees meeting Oct. 21.
