Marshall Bowery and Max Harper have been leading Rochester United all season, and the pair once again came up big against Utica Eisenhower in a pre-regional game Tuesday night.
Harper scored once, and Bowery scored twice in the third period to lead United to a 3-2 victory against Eisenhower.
"If you look at our season, Harper and Bowery have been our guys that just seem to make the plays at the right times, and they did again tonight," United coach Craig Staskowski said.
The two teams played a scoreless first period before Connor Krause got Eisenhower on the board first three-and-a-half minutes into the second period.
After Harper tied that game two minutes later on a power-play goal, Robbie Pizzimenti gave Eisenhower the lead again on a goal that was assisted by Milan Ristovski and Adam Delbeke. Ristovski also assisted on the opening goal.
Eisenhower held a 2-1 lead with 12 minutes left in the game and was awarded a power play, but Bowery scored his first goal while United was short-handed and he struck again with 9:35 left in the game to put United up for good.
United outshot Eisenhower 26-20.
Eisenhower closes its season with a 15-9-2 record, while United improved to 20-3-3. United will take on Macomb Dakota in a regional semifinal on Feb. 27 at 6:30 p.m. at Suburban Ice Macomb.
