OAKLAND COUNTY — Five candidates were competing for three six-year terms on the Lamphere Board of Education in the general election Nov. 8.  Paul Cavanaugh came in first with 22.54% (2,367 votes), followed by Ryan McCann at 21.15% (2,221 votes) and Anthony Austin at 19.

HAZEL PARK — Six candidates were competing for three four-year terms on the Hazel Park Public Schools Board of Education in the general election Nov. 8.  The three winners were Beverly Hinton at 20% (2,682 votes), Monica Rattee at 18.64% (2,499 votes), and Deborah Laframboise at 17.

OAKLAND COUNTY — According to unofficial results the morning of Nov. 8, with 99% of precincts reporting in Oakland County, Democrat Haley Stevens has won the race for the newly redrawn 11th District of the U.S. House of Representatives.

OAKLAND COUNTY — Gary McGillivray secured another term representing the 3rd District on the Oakland County Board of Commissioners Nov. 8. McGillivray received 60.42% (16,738 votes), while his Republican opponent Ronald Dwyer took 39.47% (10,934 votes). There were 30 unassigned write-ins.

HAZEL PARK — Police have arrested the alleged gunman after a shooting at LG Energy Solution in Hazel Park, an incident that left one dead following what appears to have been an argument.

METRO DETROIT — According to unofficial results the morning of Nov. 8, with 100% of precincts reporting in both Oakland and Macomb counties, Republican Thomas Kuhn has prevailed in his bid for the 57th District of the Michigan House of Representatives.
