Residents in the city of Novi let their voices be heard at the polls Tuesday.

After receiving 54.64% of the votes, residents voted to keep Mayor Bob Gatt in office.

Gatt, who has lived in Novi for 33 years, was originally elected as mayor in 2011 after serving on the City Council for several years. He received 6,883 votes, while his competitor, Ajay Raman, received 5,699, according to Oakland County’s unofficial results.

Fischer was first elected to the City Council in 2009 and served until 2014, and he was elected again in 2019. Neither Smith nor Thomas have previously held any elected offices.
