WARREN — A Warren mother has been ordered to serve between 27 1/2 to 50 years in prison for the death of her son in 2020.

STERLING HEIGHTS — A man accused of carjacking a Jeep from an octogenarian in Sterling Heights could face life imprisonment if found guilty, according to county law enforcement.

WARREN — Warren firefighters were called to assist four people who were stuck in the elevator at Ascension Macomb-Oakland Hospital on Dec. 1.   “No one was hurt or needed medical attention,” said Warren Fire Commissioner Skip McAdams.

MOUNT CLEMENS — The driver who police said hit a 5-year-old boy and left the scene of the crash on the border of Warren and Center Line in June 2021 has been ordered to serve 20 to 40 years in prison.

FARMINGTON HILLS — The Farmington Hills Fire Department was recently one of six cities in the country chosen to participate in a pilot program that provides residents with a free Knox HomeBox.

STERLING HEIGHTS — A carjacking suspect was arrested Nov. 12 after police reportedly spotted him in a hotel parking lot, and an investigation is underway due to the firing of a police gun, Sterling Heights police said.

PLEASANT RIDGE — A Huntington Woods woman who pleaded guilty to driving drunk and causing the death of a Royal Oak man in a crash in 2020 has been sentenced to at least 10 years in prison.

FARMINGTON — Students and staff at Farmington High School faced three school shooting threats over the course of eight days, Oct. 31-Nov. 8.

EASTPOINTE — A domestic incident in Eastpointe Nov. 16 left one person dead, according to police.

FARMINGTON HILLS — On Nov. 11, Farmington Hills Police Chief Jeff King issued a statement about a North Farmington High School student being arrested for posting photographs of a nonsexual nature of female students to a pornographic website.

FARMINGTON HILLS — The Farmington Hills Police Department announced Oct. 22 that Dr. Zvi Levran had been arrested and charged with multiple counts of criminal sexual conduct.

NOVI — A 67-year-old Novi man was killed during the early morning Nov. 16 after he lost control of his vehicle and collided with another on Novi Road, south of Grand River Avenue, police said.

ROSEVILLE — A man who was originally facing felony charges related to a body found in the bed of a pickup truck that he was driving at the time of a crash Oct. 27 is now facing a felony murder charge.

FERNDALE — Ferndale police arrested two Ferndale High School students a day apart for separately making threats against the school.
