NOVI — Novi police officers will soon be equipped with body cameras, as well as dash cams and recorders.

OAKLAND COUNTY — A federal appellate court has sided with several homeowners who filed a lawsuit against Oakland County, its former treasurer, the city of Southfield, several city officials, and others after their homes — worth far more than the taxes owed — were taken by the county without refunding them for the difference in home equity.

BLOOMFIELD TOWNSHIP — A man from Bloomfield Township has been charged for allegedly breaking into his neighbor’s condo and sexually assaulting her.

ROCHESTER — The Rochester Fire Department was dispatched to a house reportedly on fire at 203 South St., with multiple callers confirming the activity and that everyone had evacuated the home, at around 5:05 p.m. Feb. 15.

GROSSE POINTE WOODS — An allocation from the Grants and Community Services Division of the Michigan State Police will enable the Grosse Pointe Woods Public Safety Department to install a school resource officer at Grosse Pointe North High School starting this fall.

FERNDALE — A 64-year-old Detroit man was arrested last week for allegedly robbing a fast food restaurant earlier this month in Ferndale.

FARMINGTON HILLS — The Farmington Hills Police Department is currently investigating a fatal pedestrian traffic crash that occurred on westbound Eight Mile Road, near Inkster Road, at approximately 6:48 p.m. Feb. 6, according to a press release from the city of Farmington Hills.
