SHELBY TOWNSHIP — The Shelby Township Police Department is investigating the suspicious deaths of a 42-year-old woman and a 39-year-old man that were discovered at 10 a.m. July 17 in the 11000 block of Whispering Oak Lane, near 25 Mile and Jewell roads.

NOVI — After a 48-hour multistate search, police apprehended a New Hudson man July 7 who allegedly threatened on social media to kill his court-appointed attorney and a Novi district court judge.

MADISON HEIGHTS — The Madison Heights Police Department has a new leader. Brent LeMerise, formerly the deputy police chief, was sworn in as the police chief on June 29, taking over for Corey Haines, the previous chief who retired after 31 years with the department.

ST. CLAIR SHORES — At the June 19 meeting, the St. Clair Shores City Council approved the purchase of an already-built, demonstration model firetruck by a vote of 7-0.

ST. CLAIR SHORES — According to a press release by the St. Clair Shores Police Department, at approximately 4:45 a.m. on July 3, an officer saw a vehicle associated with an Amber Alert issued by the Lansing Police Department. The vehicle was traveling near Nine Mile Road and Harper Avenue.

WARREN — The Warren Police Department recently implemented a new effort to stem the tide of the increased summer crime and keep Warren neighborhoods safe.

BLOOMFIELD TOWNSHIP — A 62-year-old man has been hospitalized after being hit by a car on Maple Road in Bloomfield Township July 5.

HAZEL PARK — A Hazel Park man has been charged with felony assault after police said he admitted to strangling his girlfriend, who survived but is bruised. Police are also reminding the public that help is available to anyone who believes they’re in an abusive relationship.

GROSSE POINTE FARMS — When residents see Grosse Pointe Farms Public Safety officer Richard Rosati on the beat with his K-9, Rocco, they have a longtime community business leader to thank.

ROCHESTER HILLS — Police in Rochester Hills are asking residents to keep a close eye on their bank accounts and credit cards after two men were arrested for allegedly stealing mail from homes in Rochester Hills.
